Ayuda sa OFWs tiniyak ng DFA
MANILA, Philippines - Siniguro kahapon ni Foreign Affairs Sec. Alan Peter Cayetano sa mga diplomats lalo na ang nasa Middle East ang ayuda na kanilang kailangan para lubos na alalayan ang mga problemadong OFWs.
“Our diplomats cannot be expected to quickly respond to any request for assistance from our kababayans in the Middle East and in other parts of the world if they cannot be provided with the resources they need to be able to do so,” wika pa ni Sec. Cayetano.
Ginawa ni Cayetano ang paniniguro matapos nilang mag-usap ni Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs Sarah Lou Arriola hinggil sa hinaing ng mga embassy officials sa Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait at Saudi Arabia.
“I would like to assure them that they will have all the support they would need to let them accomplish the instructions of the President for them to better serve and protect our kababayans there,” dagdag pa ng DFA chief.
Umaasa naman si Cayetano ng mas mabilis na pagtugon ng mga embahada at konsulado sa pagtulong sa mga distressed OFWs simula sa susunod na taon matapos aprubahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang kanyang request na P1bilyong budget upang matulungan ang problemadong OFWs simula sa 2018.
