Villar ginawaran ng parangal sa UP

MANILA, Philippines - Ginawaran si Sen. Cynthia Villar ng ‘Most Distinguished Alumni Award’ ng University of the Philippines Alumni Association sa isinagawang homecoming at awards ceremonies sa Bahay ng Alumni sa UP Diliman, Quezon City.
Bukod kay Villar, tumanggap din ng Alumni Award sina Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio at Department of Budget and Management Secretary Benjamin Diokno. Pinarangalan din bilang ‘professional awardees’ ang 20 iba pa.
Bilang kasalukuyang chairperson ng Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food, isinusulong ni Villar ang poverty reduction bilang legislative priority.
Kasama si dating Senate President Manny Villar, itinayo niya ang Villar Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance kung saan nakapagbibigay siya ng tulong sa overseas Filipino workers at suporta sa environmental protection at nakapagpapatayo ng mga proyektong pangkabuhayan at farm schools sa buong kapuluan.
Nagtapos si Villar ng Bachelor of Science in Business Administration sa UP at nakumpleto ang kanyang Master’s degree in Business Administration sa New York University.
