MANILA, Philippines (Philippines News Agency) — Rains may prevail over Luzon on Sunday as the tail-end of a cold front is affecting the eastern part of the island, and the northeast monsoon is affecting its northern section.

In its 24-hour forecast, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flash floods and landslides will be experienced over Aurora and Quezon provinces.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected over Bicol, eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao, it added.

Cloudy skies with light rains will be experienced in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and the rest of central Luzon.

Metro Manila and the rest of Ilocos region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from east to northeast will prevail over Luzon and over the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao.

Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
