FOI pirmado na ni Pres. Rody
MANILA, Philippines – Nilagdaan na ni Pangulong Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte ang Executive Order para sa Freedom of Information (FOI).
Ang magandang balita ay inianunsyo ni Presidential Communications Office Sec. Martin Andanar sa press conference sa Royal Mandaya Hotel sa Davao City kahapon.
Ayon kay Andanar, pangako ito ni Pangulong Duterte noong presidential campaign na maging available sa publiko ang mga public documents bilang bahagi ng “transparency” sa gobyerno.
Nabigong maipasa ng nakaraang Kongreso ang FOI bill kahit naging battle cry din ito ni dating Pangulong Benigno Aquino lll noong May 2010 elections.
Sinabi ni Andanar na kober ng EO ang lahat ng sangay ng gobyerno sa ilalim ng executive branch kabilang na ang mga government corporations at state universities.
“Access to information shall be denied when the information falls under any of the exceptions enshrined in the Constitution, existing law or jurisprudence. The Department of Justice and the Office of the Solicitor-General are directed to prepare an inventory of such exceptions,” paliwanag ng PCO chief.
