MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will install a new online database in South Korea to ensure efficient and transparent delivery of public services.

“It is a system that will generate reports on the foreign labor operations required by both the internal and external clients of the DOLE,” Acting Assistant Secretary for Policy, Programs and International Relations Katherine Brimon told Philippine Ambassador to South Korea Raul Hernandez during a briefing.

The database, also called as DOLE Foreign Labor Operations Information System, aims to provide real time information to improve policy formulation and service delivery by using online technology. It is being prepared for a public roll-out at the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO).

“DOLE’s introduction of an innovative online system and databases will make its transactions and processes more convenient, accessible and transparent, which translates to improved POLO services,” Hernandez said.
