WATCH: Inspiring woman lives a 'trash-free' life

MANILA, Philippines - As we celebrate earth day in different parts of the world, let us all take on the challenge of helping the earth by living a sustainable lifestyle, starting with eliminating waste in our planet.

According to Global Footprint Network, humans are turning resources into waste faster than waste can be turned back into resources. This poses an alarming threat to the present and future generations as depleting resources means diminishing quality of life for the whole population.

While most of you might think living a "zero waste" life is not possible, a woman from New York is telling the opposite. In a video shared by "Seeker Stories,"  Lauren Singer explains how she has produced only enough trash to fill a 16 oz. mason jar over the past two years.
