Coach Kareem bids farewell to Sarok Weavers with grateful heart

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  Coach Kareem Alocillo brought with him beautiful memories that will last a lifetime as he formally bade farewell after a glorious campaign with the Consolacion Sarok Weavers.

Under Alocillo’s guidance, the Sarok Weavers made history as the first ever champion of the Pilipinas Super League (PSL) Under 21 Aspirants Division Invitational Cup nearly a month ago in Roxas, Zamboanga del Norte.

Alocillo, however, will no longer be with the team in the league’s second conference this June as he wants to focus his time and effort on his Coach A Sports Academy, which will go full blast next month after being halted for over two years because of the global pandemic.

As he embarks on his next journey, the Alegria, Cebu-native Alocillo looks back on his Sarok Weavers family with a grateful heart.

“First of all, I would like to say thank you to boss Marky Marc for giving this once in a lifetime opportunity. Second, to all Consolacionanon for accepting me as your own, it has been great representing your beautiful town and all I can say, is that I gave my all,” Alocillo wrote on his Facebook.

“Glad I was part of bringing the (championship trophy) home. Third, to all the coaching staff specially to my mentor, coach Paul Alelu Flores for the guidance, players and utilities for trusting me, the memories we shared was beyond basketball.”

“I would like to wish the Sarok Weavers 5.0 a successful campaign for the coming season of PSL U21. I will always bleed white and blue,” Alocillo continued. “Finally, I can now focus all my energy to my family and Coach A Sports Academy community! The decision wasn’t easy, but it’s was best for the greater good.” — EBV
