Barangay Salvador bet wins Ms Sierra-Bullones 2016

SIERRA-BULLONES, BOHOL, Philippines — Miss Airah Venci Tagoon, representing Barangay Salvador of this agriculturally-rich town, was crowned as Miss Sierra-Bullones 2016 during the beauty-and-brain pageant held at the town's emporium Monday night.

Tagoon—who tried to hold back her tears back when her name was announced before the jampacked activity center—also won other awards: Darling of the Crowd, Miss Discovery Model and Best in Interview.

Besting 20 other candidates, Tagoon got the board of judges' nods by scoring and average of 92.60 points.

Mayor Simplicio "Dodie" Maestrado, who led officials here was present from the beginning to end, donned the crown to the new S-Bullones queen, who bested 19 other candidates.

In his message, Maestrado thanked the event organizers for painstakingly staging the pageant, and also to barangay officials who cooperated with the activity with the participation of their respective candidates, except for Barangay Dusita which failed to have its candidate.

Barangay Poblacion's Isabelieta Daniel Buslon, the crowd's favorite in the early part of the competition, settled for 1st runner-up honors, and harvested minor and special awards: Most Photogenic, Ms. Smart Communications, Miss Choco Hills Adventure Park, Best in Production Number, and Best in Evening Gown.

Kathy Remorosa of Barangay Canlangit won 2nd runner-up; Jeanishiel Amparo of Barangay San Juan was 3rd runner-up, and 'Princess Ella Jamisola of Barangay' Magsaysay, the 3rd runner-up.

The pageant was part of the town's annual fiesta celebration on December 08, in honor of Immaculada Concepcion, the town's patron saint.

Others who attended the pageant, aside from the mayor, were Vice Mayor Fred Buslon, and barangay chairmen among others. Monsignor Ariel Lantaca started the event with an invocation. (FREEMAN)
