P3.5M worth of shabu found in rented house

TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines — Authorities recovered over 400 grams of suspected shabu from a boarding house allegedly rented out by a drug pusher killed earlier this month by unidentified suspects in Leyte, ABS-CBN News reported yesterday.

Operatives of the Leyte Police Provincial Office (LPPO), led by its director, Senior Superintendent Franco Simborio, found 450 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P3.5 million from a boarding house in San Diego Street, District 9, Burauen town in Leyte.

The discovery of the shabu was based on information relayed by a confidential informant.

The informant said that a Chelito Caimoy was involved in illegal drug activities in Dulag town and rented a boarding house in nearby Burauen.

Caimoy was however killed last July 17 by still unidentified assailants, police said.

After the inventory conducted in the presence of the municipal officials of Burauen, the recovered illegal drugs were turned over to the PNP Crime Laboratory for examination and further investigation. (FREEMAN)
