BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Members of the Optical Media Board and Regional Intelligence Unit-Region 6 confiscated a total of 226 sacks of pirated CDs and DVDs, worth P31 million, from simultaneous raids in this city, Friday morning.

Intelligence Officer Sergio Valdez, OMB spokesperson, said  the raids were conducted in 888 Chinatown, Plazamart, Dela Rama and the rest of Gatuslao Street.

He said the 400 pieces of CDs and DVDs in every sack, if multiplied to the prices of the original ones would amount to P31,640,000.

Aside from the confiscated CDs and DVDs, they also seized a number of DVD players, Valdez said, adding that his team is still waiting for a directive from OMB Chairman Ronnie Ricketts if they would continue with the operations in this city. (FREEMAN)
