DUMAGUETE CITY , Philippines — Fire of still unknown origin razed a house yesterday afternoon at Purok 5, Barangay Bantayan in this city, leaving an estimated damage of P250,000 to property and personal belongings.
No one, however, was injured as the house was empty with the couple who owned it and their two children away at work and at school, respectively, fire probers said.
Dumaguete City Fire Marshall Arnulfo Sayson said fire fighters of the City Fire Station and of Rescue 348 were immediately deployed to the scene where the house of light materials was already engulfed by flames.
Fire fighters immediately placed the blaze under control before it could cross over to the house next door.
Sayson said investigators still have to determine the origin of the fire and its cause. (FREEMAN)
