Pink lips cannot hide yellow teeth

Figures truly do not lie. With a scorecard of zero out of eight in the 2019 senate race, yellow as a signature political brand has become so tarnished and untenable that its two top leaders, its chairman and its president, deemed it wise and practical to chuck the yellow and don a new color for 2022. That new color is pink. But pink is just a red herring to mask the yellow.

Pink ostensibly stands for unity and change. In reality it is an invented and assumed meaning that does not stick. To be agents of unity and change one has to play roles too heavy for any yellow who has known only hatefulness and vengefulness for 35 years. Yellows are incapable of accepting the fact that there are people on the other side of the fence; that each person has his own story to tell, his own choices to make, his own life to live.

To the yellows, if you are not with them you are unlike them and therefore you are rude, a boor, uncouth, uncivilized, ignorant, uneducated, blind. You are a lover of murder, a fan of plunder. You are corrupt, a cheat, a scalawag, have smelly armpits, and bad breath. Society is better off without you. Only without you can there be unity and change for the yellows now masquerading as pinks to bask and thrive in.

The you is of course the rest of us. The we who are not fit to be with them, to share with them a nationhood with all its ups and downs. We are the unworthy ones, the annoying dust on their skins. We are unworthy of the welcoming embrace of their bishops or the kind understanding of their nuns. If we speak our minds we sound like trolls in their ears. If we share our views, we have been bought in their eyes.

Such deep-seated hypocrisy and bigotry couched in shallow professions of change and unity are the single biggest inhibitors of that very change and unity. Yellow, or the pink that it pretends to be, ironically yet deservedly becomes the main driver of perpetual disintegration and alienation. Rather than attract and consolidate, yellow divides and drives away.

Yellow and/or pink is the single most effective contributor to the rise in numbers of the enemy. There is now a seeming bandwagon to the main rival of yellow or pink and it is not exactly because the rival is more credible or attractive but because they have been made to feel like degenerates, dregs, and pariahs. The rejects (that's us) are finding brotherhood and common cause across the tracks.

We who are similarly regarded and prejudged unworthy find honor and eventually respect in our common unworthiness. In our betrayal by our kapwa we find our bearing and our strength. The uneducated and ignorant will rise to rule because they are more human. They hurt and they find commiseration. They are at home outside the yellow gates.

Inside the yellow gates, the pinks may enjoy their exclusivity. But that is precisely what is totally wrong with the whole yellow narrative. The tale they tell is one of utter self-righteousness. And they only have one another to tell it. This is the surest shortcut to irrelevance. The yellow, or pink or what have you is the most effective campaigner and drum beater for the other side.

So when they talk of unity and change, read their lips. No matter how pink they paint their lips, their yellow teeth will invariably show. The color may be pink now but the dialogue and choreography are still patently yellow. There are many ways to describe it. You cannot teach an old dog new tricks. A tiger's stripes will not turn into spots. (And here is my favorite as I just coined it) You can dye an egg pink but the yolk will still be yellow. Wink.
