All binignit for three days

Not having been able to return to their province, a man gladly accepted his co-worker’s invitation to stay at the latter’s house Thursday to Saturday one Holy Week. Not accustomed to the Cebuano tradition of eating binignit as a form of “fasting,” the man grew more excited when told binignit would be served at home.

True enough, binignit was served at the house for straight three days. No rice meals. So when the co-worker finally said they were to visit a relative’s house, the man was relieved, hoping to finally eat a decent meal. To shorten the story, what was served at the other house turned out to be still binignit.
