Joe Biden sure to get more than 272 electoral votes

The national pollsters in America are almost unanimous in predicting, based on scientific surveys, that Democratic Party's standard bearer Joe Biden is going to win the US presidency and prevail over incumbent Donald Trump of the GOP in both the popular votes and the electoral college.

The strongly Democratic states that will most likely deliver the popular votes and the electoral college's nod are the following with their respective numbers of electoral college votes: California, 55; New York 29; Illinois, 20; Pennsylvania, 20; Michigan, 16; New Jersey 14; Virginia, 13; Washington, 12; Massachusetts, 11; Arizona, 11; Maryland, 10; Minnesota, 10; Colorado, 9; Connecticut, 7; Oregon, 7; Nevada, 6; New Mexico, 5; Hawaii, 4; Vermont, 3; Delaware, 3; and DC, 3. The worst scenario for Joe Biden is to have a total of only 277 electoral votes, and that is five over the required votes of 272 to win. Even the worst-case scenario favors the challenger over the incumbent.

But there are five states that are now leaning to Joe Biden, and these are Iowa, with 6; Georgia, 16; North Carolina; 15, Ohio, 18; and, hold your breath, Florida with 29 electoral votes. These will be another 84 votes to be added to 277, making Joe Biden a landslide winner with 361 electoral votes. Of course, at this point in time, the camp of President Donald Trump won't concede that Florida will flip to blue, but then again, Donald Trump is not George Bush and the governor of Florida is not Jeb Bush anymore. The GOP is in for the greatest surprise of their lives come November 3. Polling is not just an art; it’s a science as well. It is based on scientific methods of statistics and analyses of trends.

California is projected to vote for Biden at a ratio of 58% to Trump’s 38%. New York will go Biden at 61% and 39% for Trump. Illinois will most probably go for Biden with 53% and only 40% for Trump. Pennsylvania's 51% of the votes will go for Biden and only 44% for Trump. Michigan will go 51% for Biden and Trump 40%. New Jersey is very Democrat with 56% going for the challenger Biden and merely 35% for Trump. Virginia is 53% for Biden and 42% for Trump. Washington has always been Democrat, with this year's projection of Biden getting 58% of the votes and Trump 44%. Massachusetts, the bailiwick of the famous Kennedy family, is overwhelmingly 69% Biden and only 31% Trump.

The indications show that 54% of Colorado voters will support Biden and 40% for Trump. Connecticut will see 52% for Biden and only 32% for the incumbent president. Washington DC, the nation's capital, soon-to-be a separate state, with three electoral votes by now is 93% for the challenger Joe Biden and only 4% for Trump. An estimated 54% of Delaware voters will go for Biden and 33% for Trump. Hawaii has always been Democrat. This year, 61% of its voters will support Joe Biden and only 28% for Trump. Maine will go for Biden 51% over Trump's 40%. Maryland will be having a ratio of 61% to 30% in favor of Joe Biden. Michigan and Minnesota will have the same ratios, both 51% for Biden and 42% for Trump.

I am sorry for the Trump campaign. The fight is over. Unless an earth-shaking upheaval should derail these trends, the Democrats will be the masters of the White House come January 2021. I hope that our prognosis comes true, that Biden will be better for the Filipinos. After our experience with Trump, anyone else seems to be better.
