The Benedicto Clan, led by Ambassador Francisco “Frank” Benedicto (president of Benedicto Colleges), for decades has been gifting the Cebuanos with gymnasiums and centers after its patriarch, Don Bernardo Benedicto. The latest is a community center inside the Talamban Elementary School in Barangay Talamban, Cebu City. The marker reads:

‘The Community Center constructed in January and completed on November 2019 stands as a concrete donated by philanthropists, AMB. FRANCISCO L. BENEDICTO and CONSUL ENRIQUE L. BENEDICTO in honor of their late beloved father, philanthropist DON BERNARDO BENEDICTO whose love for education as well as the welfare and development of our community surpasses all other human aspirations, DON BERNARDO BENEDICTO was conferred “Adopted Son of Cebu City” by virtue of Cebu City Council Resolution No. 1936 passed on August 26, 1968. This Community Center is hereby dedicated especially to:

 -The students of Talamban Elementary School and the rest of the school children of the Schools Division of Cebu City for their holistic development especially honing their talents and skills;

 -The teachers, administrators and staff who constantly nurture the school children to become productive and responsible citizens of our country; and

 -The community who also contributes to the growth and development of the school, through the conduct of worthy activities significant to the social, physical and cultural development of the people.

This completed Community Center is turned over to the Talamban Elementary School, Schools Division of Cebu City and the City Government this 9th day of November, 2019.”
