In the 1886 report of Fr. Felipe Redondo, Bohol used to be part of what was called the Diocese of Cebu. Bohol was a district then, divided into two vicariates, the northern and southern. The northern was headed by Tagbilaran and composed of the following: Dauis, Panglao, Baclayon, Corella, Alburquerque, Balilijan, Catigbian, Paminguitan, and Antequera. To continue:

Maribojoc was under the patronage of the Holy Cross. Its date of creation is not known, however the oldest entry in the baptismal books is dated January 2, 1788.

Loon was founded in 1753, under the patronage of the Our Lady of Light. The parish faces the town of Argao, Cebu.
