#INTRIGA PA MORE - The Freeman

ENGLISH WORD. An EAR informer was in the emergency room with his wife and daughter recently and overheard the doctor on duty asking a colleague: "Doc, unsa gani English sa matag-tiki (Doc, what again is the English term for matag-tiki?" The colleague, a surgeon, quickly quipped: "Kuan Doc, lizard's eye."

QUICK SEARCH. The informer Googled it himself and found out that matag-tiki is actually a boil, also called a furuncle. According to his quick search, it is a deep folliculitis, infection of the hair follicle. It is most commonly caused by infection by the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus, resulting in a painful swollen area on the skin caused by an accumulation of pus and dead tissue. So he told the first doctor: "Furuncle, Doc." And the doctor replied: "Aw, di diay lizard's eye. Hehehe."
