Parasite pills

SURPRISED. A parish priest from Davao on a visit in Cebu told friends he was surprised why many schoolchildren got sick and landed in the hospital after taking the medicine against bulate or bitok (internal parasites). He said during his childhood he and his five brothers were made to take purgative (or laxative) pills.

QUESTION. The priest, now in his 70s, asked an Ear informer: “Aren’t anti-parasite medicines more advance today than those in my time?” He said he did not hear of anyone landing in the hospital after taking the purgative then.
