CEBU, Philippines - Three persons were arrested after being caught in the act of having a drug session along the highway at Barangay Looc of this city Thursday morning.
Operatives of the Danao City Police Station identified the drug suspects as Venerando Alerta, 35, Joshua Gungob, 30, and Vinjo Tabilid, 23, all jobless residents of the city.
Three small plastic sachets, containing shabu with a street value of P472, were seized from the possession of the three, while more drug paraphernalia were taken from the possession of Alerta.
The Danao Police first received a telephone call, at 11:55 a.m., from a resident informing that a group of persons were seen playing a head-or-tails coin game, locally known as hantak, along the highway.
The police responded to verify the report and, minutes after, arrived at the scene only to find out there was no one playing hantak there. Instead, they chanced upon Alerta, Gungob and Tabilid having a drug session in a hut, prompting the policemen to arrest the three. The suspects are now detained at the Danao Police Station. — Ma.
