City dad asks Capitol to fund road project

CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City council has asked the Capitol for help for the repair and rehabilitation of a road, the main thoroughfare which leads to the interior portion of the barangay Linao.

Through a proposed resolution authored by opposition Councilor Valeriano “Val” Ylanan, the council is asking acting governor Agnes Magpale for financial assistance of P250,000 for road repair.

Ylanan, a former barangay councilman in Linao, said the barangay road is the only access to important city facilities such as the Talisay City Rehabilitation and Detention Center, Talisay City Gun/Shooters Club.

He also said that garbage trucks of Talisay City use this road in going to the dumpsite.

“Barangay Linao road is currently dilapidated and in very poor condition resulting in frequent vehicular accidents. Due to its dilapidated state, vehicles traveling the road kick up too much dust which may result in upper respiratory tract infections among nearby resident especially the children,” Ylanan said.

Ylanan said “it is the fervent hope of the proponent that this problem be addressed at the earliest time possible for the betterment of its constituents.” (FREEMAN)
