CABC’s 1st Buildrite Cup kicks off today

CEBU, Philippines —  Six teams will start their quest for hardcourt supremacy as the Cebu Architects Basketball Club’s 1st Buildrite Cup gets underway today at the Benedicto College gymnasium along A.S. Fortuna Street in Mandaue City.

“We’re very thankful to Buildrite for its never-ending support to CABC,” said Paolo Alberto, one of the league organizers, in a press conference yesterday at Club Filipino de Cebu-FGU Center in Cebu Business Park.

The title contenders of the six-week tournament are Sinclair Paints (Cebu Chapter), Rubber Stop (Rajah Humabon Chapter), Sapal 2 in 1 (Datu Lapu-Lapu Chapter), Max Bond (Sugbu Chapter), Smart Bond (Leon Kilat Chapter), and Flexicrete (Metro Cebu Chapter).

They will play in a single round robin format.

The top two teams at the end of elimination will advance outright to the semifinals where they will enjoy twice-to-beat advantage.

On the other hand, the third and fourth seeded teams will have twice-to-beat edge against teams No.5 and No.6 in the quarterfinals.

The schedule of games will be determined by drawing of lots immediately after the simple opening ceremony set at 3 pm. — EBV
