Team Joeric hands Schwartz first loss in Badbeat caging

CEBU, Philippines —  Team Joeric notched its first win in style, handing Schwartz its first loss via a 92-72 demolition in the inaugural Badbeat Basketball League (BBL) season powered by Dimsum Break at the Sacred Heart Center Sports Club along D. Jakosalem Street in Cebu City.

Oliver Sanoy showed the way for Team Jeoric with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in an all-around performance.

On the other hand, the Midland Hoopers and Lomax Event stretched their perfect starts to 3-0.

Rolly Dablo scattered 17 points, six rebounds and four assists as the Midland Hoopers escaped past Fernandez Optical, 81-78, while Allen Alicando sank eight 3-pointers of his 32 points spiked with five rebounds and four assists to catapult Lomax Event to a 90-79 drubbing of the Alpine Builders.

Also, the Prayboys, MTBL Trading, and Aktibo Brotherhood stayed unbeaten in two starts.

Wilmer Paloma cashed in 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists as the Praboys thrashed the Serenis North Dribblers, 92-70, Jerome Soque dropped 21 points on top of four boards and three dimes to lead MTBL Trading over Team Puma, 124-95, while Jay Minoza knocked in eight triples of his 38 points laced with six rebounds and four steals in Aktibo Brotherhood’s 104-91 whacking of Du Ek Sam.

In the other results, Fritz Manatad dropped 25 points, seven rebounds and three assists as Coco’s Itlogan annihilated the Bai Ballers,112-60, Justine Boquilon pumped in 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists as GSR Motorparts & Barbershop trounced Flip Basketball, 96-57, while John Mark Cañeda churned out 21 points, five rebounds and five assists as Side Hustle fended off BBC, 63-58. — EBV
