Team TBL emerges champion in 5th Randall Cup
CEBU, Philippines — Team TBL of Harrison Go prevailed over the Homeboys Alpha of Christopher Rey “Toper” Caruana, 88-83, in their hard-fought final match to emerge as champions of the 5th Randall Cup basketball tournament recently at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) lower court.
Reniel Labajo showed the way for TBL with 20 points. He was honored as the Most Valuable Player for his brilliant performance all throughout the league.
A special Sportsmanship award was given to Johnmar “Insik” Cuizon for showcasing the true value of camaraderie on and off the playing court.
In the battle for third place, the Homeboys Original of Webster “Tatskie” Ong outlasted the Homeboys Legends of James Junrie Años, 75-64.
Homeboys Basketball organized the highly successful six-team tilt in memory of their league founder Randall Joseph Prado. — EBV
