CEBU, Philippines — A total of nine teams are seeing action in the Mamba League Season 2, which kicked off just recently at the Sacred Heart Center Sports Club along D. Jakosalem Street in Cebu City.
These are the Wizenard, Mambacita, Del Sol, Chaos, Blackout, Yin Yang, Five Rings, Draft Day, and Bruce Lee.
League organizer Michael John Curan, also known as Mike Mamba, said the tournament follows a single round robin format.
The top four will advance to the crossover semifinals, with the No.1 and No.2 seeds enjoying a twice-to-beat advantage.
The winners will then clash for championship in a winner-take-all affair.
Meanwhile, Kariza Mejares Labao of Team Chaos was crowned as the best muse.
In the season-opening games, Ben Mejares cashed in 11 points, five rebounds and six assists as Blackout slammed Del Sol, 59-47, while Feleejo Bongo piled up 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists to power Mambacita to a 74-65 drubbing of Wizenard. — EBV
