FEEL THE GAME - Bobby Motus - The Freeman

No need to talk about Game 4 as this basketball obsessed country has an abundance of game analysts, be it legit or whatever.  It is for the love and passion of the game that brings out both the brilliant and entertaining evaluation of what happened last Wednesday morning.  After a two-day break, tomorrow could be the LA Lakers’ 17th league title after a decade, or Miami could just become the 14th team in NBA history to rally from a 1-3 series deficit to win the title.  Simbako tawon!

If Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Markieff Morris and Kyle Kuzma continue to find their range and Danny Green, the shooter who can’t shoot can finally shoot aside from his defense and court smarts, then I would dare say the championship is for the Lakers to take.

This year’s championship series is a testament to LeBron James’ greatness as he had restructured the all-time career Finals records in several statistics:

•Number 6 all-time on Finals blocks made

•Number 5 all-time on Finals games played

•Number 4 all-time on Finals rebounds made

•Number 2 all-time on Finals leader in points

•Number 2 all-time on Finals 3-pointers made

•Number 2 all-time on Finals field goals made

•Number 2 all-time on Finals steals made

•Number 2 all-time on Finals steals made

•Number 2 all-time on Finals assists made

•Number 1 all-time on Finals triple doubles made

As always, there are still people who refuse to accept and acknowledge LBJ’s mastery of the game despite the ripe “old” age of 35.  Obviously written by a Laker fan on FB, let me share verbatim, an amusing narrative of supposedly LAL/LBJ haters going back to the Anthony Davis trade:

Pre-Season – The Lakers traded away their whole squad for ONE player.  No one is worth that!  Pelicans won the trade.  Hahaha!  Lakers brought back old ass Rondo.  LeBron is old and broken down.  He can’t get it done.

Regular Season – Lakers just lost to Clippers on opening night!  Clippers are the better team.  Okay... the Lakers are winning games but they haven’t beat a good team yet!  The Lakers are beating the good teams because LeBron has a super team.  The Lakers are stacked!

Playoffs – The Blazers are dangerous!  The Lakers do NOT wanna see them!  Wait till the Clippers and Lakers meet, Clippers winning hands down!  The Rockets are dangerous!  That small ball can really challenge LA!  The Nuggets are dangerous!  The comeback kids can beat the Lakers.  They believe!

The Finals – Man....  this season doesn’t count anyway.

That’s the end of the narrative.  The Lakers will be using the Black Mamba unis tomorrow and so far, they were undefeated in the bubble wearing them.  One more game.  Or, simbako lagi oy!
