CEBU, Philippines —  Larry Malagar sparkled with 25 points, seven assists and five rebounds as the Flores Cousins tamed Alfa Wanbatz, 70-62, to stay undefeated in the 1st Amicis Basketball League (ABL) season at the Consolacion Sports Complex.

Bos D-Han chipped in 16 markers and a dozen rebounds for the Flores Cousins of team owner Atty. Paolo Sucalit and coach  Patrick Gregory Flores, who are now assured of a semifinal spot in the 30-above category with a perfect 5-0 record.

The Flores Cousins raced to a hot 21-9 start but Alfa Wanbatz rallied backed with savvy to chop the deficit down to only three points at halftime, 30-33.

Flores Cousins, however, regained their offensive bearing in the final half to walk away with an eight-point victory.

Juskin Reuyan scattered 16 points, eight assists and seven rebounds, Carence Reuyan scored 13 and pulled down seven boards while Kitmon Paramell piled up 12 points, six rebounds and seven assists but their effort proved futile as Alfa Wanbatz slipped to 3-3, still good for a quarterfinal place.

Games of the maiden ABL season backed up by North Sports Apparel, VDrink Malunggay Juice, Fighter 50 Wine and Consolacion LGU headed by mayor Joyjoy Alegado are under the supervision of commissioner Lee Mar Dahil assisted by technical committee chief Aurelio Eslawan. EBV
