Cebu triathletes shine in NAGT
CEBU, Philippines — Talisay Luigi Triathlon Group opened their 2020 season on a high note after harvesting medals in the first leg of 2020 TRAP National Age-group Triathlon in Subic Bay yesterday.
National team mainstay and SEA Games silver medallist Andrew Kim Remolino came out second behind his national teammate, John Chicano in the premiere standard elite division with a time if hour, 56 minutes and 48 second, just 30 seconds deficit from the latter.
Remolino’s teammate in Alfred Latrell Pacabis settled for bronze in 1:59:32, clocking.
Alex Silverio, for his part, showed how strong he really is after emerging third overall in the age-groups.
In the sprint distance, GFG-TLTG saw Charles Jeremiah Lipura, Irenold Reig Jr.and Renz Wynn Corbin posting a 2-3-4 finish in the junior elite after Lipura posted 1:03:34, Reig with 1:04:09 and 1:04:49.
In the distaff side, Moira Frances Erediano debuted in the sprint junior elite level with a silver in 1:10:02 as another Cebu-based Omega Tri squad bet, Karen Manayon got the gold in 1:09:28.
Erediano’s teammates Nicole Del Rosario and the returning Marielle Estreba ending fourth and fifth in the said class respectively.
In the super-sprint, Matthew Justine Hermosa lived up to expectations as he grabbed the gold in 33 minutes and 42 seconds while teammate Jacob Kennedy Lipura got the bronze in 35:40 while his brother Jacob Clint landed fifth as teammates Beboy Dolen ended fourth, Akio Habana at sixth, Earol Belonguil seventh, and Dave Zachary Fernandez at ninth.
Jeanna Mariel Canete also contributed with a bronze for GFG-TLTG.
