Olango challenge Alcosebab reigns anew

CEBU, Philippines —  National team member Raven Faith Alcoseba added feather to her cap after clinching her second straight title in the 12th Olango Challenge at the Pacific Cebu Resort in Lapu-Lapu City.

The De once again came out on top of the 6K women’s premier open, after crossing the finish line in one hour, 41 minutes and 33 seconds.

Karen Mae Indaya was Alcoseba’s closes pursuer with a time of 1:50:00, while Alexa Asibal wound up third with 1:53:18, clocking.

Talisay Luigi Triathlon Group’s Charles Lipura also claimed a huge victory after finishing on top of the 6K men’s premier over his teammate and multi-titled Andrew Kim Remolino. Lipura registered a time of 1:37:30, one second faster than Remolino. Jobert Indaya settled for third with a time of 1:41:42.

Alcoseba’s sister, Fionna also stole part of the limelight after winning the 1K title with a time of 19:35:28 followed by Eim Espina (20:38:03) and Bencynt Ghail Luage (21:10:03), who placed second and third place, respectively.

University of Cebu’s Christopher Negro topped the 1K men’s with a time of 20:08:17, while Makoto Nagatome and Mark Borromeo clinched the second and third place with a time of 20:27:57 and 24:17:81, respectively.

Mike Gabrielle Dela Cerna won the boys 300m kiddie dash in four minutes followed by Dave Zachary Fernandez and Benedict Orio.

Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu’s Dhexia Bersabal shone in the girls division of the kiddie dash with a time of 4:31, while Jynelle Marie Napala (4:34) and Rein Villano (4:41) occupied the next two spots.
