Santos rules STBAI bowling championships

CEBU, Philippines — Senior bowler Nelia Santos of Pasig Bowling Association reigned supreme in the senior masters division of the inaugural  Seaside Tenpin Bowling Association Inc. (STBAI) National Open Tenpin Bowling Championships last Saturday at the SM Seaside City’s bowling center in South Road Properties.

The 35-handicapper Santos scored a total of 1,785 pinfalls in the final round to bag the champions plaque plus P40,000 cash.

Renato Reyes of Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (CETBA), who put up a total of 1,752 snagged the second place honor while Celis Viloria  of STBAI settled for third with her  1,721 pinfalls.

Ronnie Javier of Imus Tenpin Bowling Association (ITBA-Imus) and Inday Aguilar of CETBA occupied the fourth and fifth place with the 1,702 and 1,680, respectively.

Rounding up the top 10 were Romy Serrano of DATBA (1,674), Nestor Ranido of STBAI (1,670), Francis De Leon of MTBA-Gruppo (1,664), Manny Bueno of STBAI (1,663) and Ed Santos of PBA (1,661).

STBAI was formally established last year and is the newest Philippine Bowling Congress, Inc. and NBT association, and the third bowling organization in Cebu. (FREEMAN)
