Salon De Rose U21 rapid chessfest on Sunday
CEBU, Philippines — The March edition of Salon De Rose Under 21 monthly rapid chess tournament will take place this Sunday at the Barracks Chess Club in Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
Game time begins at 12nn.
Meanwhile, the organizers have officially changed the event’s name to “Salon De Rose Olympian Rapid Chess Tournament” in support of the chess community’s efforts to recognize chess as an Olympic event.
Aside from advancing to the grand finals, the winners of the 7-round Swiss system competition sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) will also receive cash prizes.
The champion will take home P1,500, while the second to fifth placers will pocket P1,000, P700, P500, and P300, respectively.
Entry fee is pegged at P150.
