CEBU, Philippines — Close to 8,000 runners are expected to join the Cebu leg of the 7-Eleven Run Series tomorrow morning starting and ending at the Cebu Business Park.
The race features 3K, 5K , 10K , 16K, 21K, 32K and 42K categories.
7-Eleven Run Project Head Michelle Saludes said they are ecstatic as they have surpassed the numbers of participants from the previous edition which is 6,000.
"Mas marami ngayon we have recorded close to 8,000 registrants sa Cebu leg alone which is higher than the first edition. Maybe because those who have joined last year already know the fun and excitement they experience sa race and the cash prizes they will get," said Saludes.
The champion in the 42K will pocket P25,000, P20,000 for the 21K, P15,000 for 16K, P10,000 for 10K, P7,000 for 5K and P5,000 for 3K.
Aside from the cash prize, the runner with the overall best time will get a ticket to join in an international marathon event in Asia along with the top runners in the Manila and Davao legs.
The organizers will also give away half a million pesos for the Filipino marathoners in the male and female division, who can break the Philippine record.
