Alinsunod, Chepsiror top Run for Autism

CEBU, Philippines — Joan Alinsunod of Spectrum Runners and Kenyan Eric Chepsiror emerged as the biggest winner in the first REACH OUT- Run for Autism Awareness Challenge yesterday at the SM City Cebu.

Alinsunod became the fastest in the 12K women's class with a time of 53 minutes and 16 seconds. Geneda Arcuino sealed the second spot with her 53:25 clocking, while Nancy Del Castillo settled for third with a time of 1:45:00.

Chepsiror, for his part, outpaced his counterparts to rule the men's division with a time of 40 minutes and 53 seconds. Agustin Ychon and Arnel Florentino occupied the next two spots with a time of 41:13 and 47:09, respectively.

In the 6K action, Moira Erediano and Ruel Algufera reigned their respective divisions.

Erediano claimed the women's title with a time of  24:46 followed by Cherry Andrin (26:52) in the second place and Antonette Velayo (27:12), who finished third.

Algufera topped the men's class with a time of 19:45 followed by Ariel Saballa (19:59) and Andrew Kim Remolino (20:33) at second and third place, respectively. (FREEMAN)
