CEBU, Philippines — Emmanuel Villamor sparkled with 20 points as the Consolacion Sarok Weavers pummeled Compostela, 83-64, to close in on North Division Bracket 1 quarterfinals with a clean 3-0 slate in the 2nd Cebu Governor's Cup 2018 Inter-Cities and Municipalities Under-21 Developmental Basketball Tournament on Wednesday night at the Carmen Sports Complex.

Patrick Montano and Marco Booker Panta added 11 points each for the Sarok Weavers, who dominated the one-sided match from start to finish.

After closing the first half with a 39-27 lead, the red-hot Consolacion side kept on pounding on the hapless Compostela to blow up their lead to 19 points after three quarters, 65-46. Compostela failed to crawl out of that deep hole until the final buzzer.

Rodney Montero was the lone Compostela cage in double figures with 14 points.

In the nightcap, Alje Mendez dropped 25 points and Hansel James Camacho added 18 as Mandaue City mauled host Carmen, 103-81, to barge into the win column.

The Mandauehanons never looked back after opening the match with a lightning 27-11 attack. Their lead ballooned to 18 points at the break, 53-35.

Nino Matthew then dropped 10 of his 17 points in the third quarter, while Mendez added eight points in the final period as Mandaue closed out Carmen decisively.

Clint Ryan Dalaguit scattered a game-high 26 points in a losing stand for Carmen. — EBV
