Vantage FC rules San Roque bootfest
CEBU, Philippines - Vantage FC claimed its third title of the year after sending the Rising Sun into a total eclipse, 4-0, to rule the San Roque 11-a-side football tournament over the weekend at the San Roque Parish field in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
Despite playing in a mud-harassed field, Vantage FC managed to contain the Rising Sun strikers, never allowing them to score the entire game.
Ruffy Llorente lit up the offensive fire for Vantage FC after finding the back of the net with just 10 minutes gone by in the match.
Nigerian national Madi Nji followed suit at the 58th, before his compatriot Ataram Famous nailed back-to-back goals at the 71st and 78th to seal the deal for Vantage FC.
The Vantage booters hope to keep their winning run as they bid for the men’s open crown in this year’s Aboitiz Cup.
In the battle for third place, San Jose-Nawanao prevailed over Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu by a hairline, 3-2. (FREEMAN)
