New leader emerges in Sinulog kegfest

CEBU, Philippines - Danny Sabang snatched the temporary lead in the qualifying round for the masters event of the 17th Sinulog Open National Tournament at the Gaisano Bowlingplex in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City.

Sabang of CETBA-55 AB compiled a four-day output of 1,342 pinfalls in all three events.

Clarence Tiu occupied the second spot with 1,334 pins, while third day leader Vivian Padawan slipped to third with 1,326 pins. Padawan though still tops the seniors and all-lady bowlers.

Ezzie Gan, who nailed the highest scratch in the men's singles with 249 pins, led in the singles event with 451 pins after two games, while Danny Sabang is at second spot with 450 followed by Xyrra Cabusas with 449.

Cabusas alongside Aui Padawan and Bede Ilano are on top of the heap in team event with 1,252 pinfalls combined, while Luke and Sal Bolongan are the new leaders in doubles with 853 pinfalls, just a hairline ahead of Hilton Hernando and Danny Sabang. (FREEMAN)
