College student arrested for selling shabu
CEBU, Philippines — A student was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the police in Larena, Siquijor Tuesday morning.
The suspect was identified as Gerard Don Cortez, 19, of Lazi, Siquijor.
During the operation, operatives of PDEA-Siquijor and Larena Municipal Police Station seized six packets of shabu weighing one gram worth P6,800.
According to the PDEA, a concerned citizen reported to them about the illegal activities of the suspect and they monitored the illegal activities for a one month case build-up.
The suspect, a student of nautical course, was heard selling shabu to fellow students.
Proper criminal charges based on Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect. — (FREEMAN)
