CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office has recorded a decrease in 8-focus crimes in the city based on the presentation made by the Investigation and Detective Management Unit.

CCPO director, Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, announced the report during their command conference Monday morning which was attended by station commanders and chiefs of special units.

The 8-focus crimes are murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, theft, robbery, car theft, and motorcycle theft.

Dalogdog said that from May 21 to 27, only seven cases were recorded and in the case of theft from May 28 to June 3, only four cases were recorded.

According to Dalogdog, they are really focusing on this while revealing that it will be seen how effective the central beat patrol system of the CCPO is and they will sustain it.

Apart from the central beat patrol system, the successive arrests by the Cebu City police of robbers and drug dealers have also helped to reduce the number of cases.

The Mabolo Police Station 4 arrested Wilfredo Belarmino, alias Cam-cam, 25, a known drug dealer, during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Laguerta, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

Belarmino was found with 7.59 grams of shabu worth P51,612.

Before Belarmino was arrested, he reportedly stole from a house in East Beverly Hills, Barangay Lahug where he got a cellphone and money.

Apart from the case of robbery with violence and intimidation of a person (hold-up), Belarmino will also be charged with violation of Section 5 and 11 Article II of Republic Act 9165.
