18 thousand more Cebu City residents get cash aid

CEBU, Philippines — Close to 18,000 households affected by typhoon Odette in Cebu City received the promised financial aid yesterday.

The latest beneficiaries were from the city's 18 barangays as reported by Councilor Jerry Guardo, the chairman of the City Council's Infrastructure Committee.

Bulk of the beneficiaries or 4,671 came from Barangay Guadalupe, followed by Tejero with  2,797 then Kamputhaw with 2098, Mabolo with 1,618, and Sambag - 1 with  1370.

Other recipients were from barangays Agsungot (825), Busay( 590), Guba( 167), Kasambagan( 930), Malubog(268),Mambaling( 136), Pamutan (149), Pari-an(73), Pung-ol Sibugay( 666), San Antonio(192), San Roque( 296), Tabunan(380), and Taptap with  718 beneficiaries.

Each of the residential structure owner got P5,000, regardless of the extent of the damage.

Earlier, the city government gave out the same amount to 48,000 other beneficiaries.
