44 barangay workers undergo drug test
CEBU, Philippines — At least 44 barangay workers and officials have undergone an impromptu drug test in Barangay Cansaga, Consolacion on Friday and all were tested negative.
According to Barangay Captain Denmark “Demat” Prame, he conducted the random drug test to show his full support for the President's program to fight against illegal drugs and to demonstrate to the barangay constituents that their officials and barangay workers are drug-free.
In order to realize this mission, Prame called for a meeting so everyone would be present and could be drug tested.
He was pleased to know that the drug test results were negative for all officers and workers.
Prame thanked his fellow workers and officials who willingly submitted themselves to a urine test for the said unannounced drug testing.
He also made it clear that he would conduct an unscheduled drug test twice a year for all the barangay workers and officials to undergo.
This happened a day after three other barangays in Consolacion were declared drug-free and awarded by the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC). — Dheif Daniel Yunting, USC Comm Intern, GMR (FREEMAN)
