Cebu City starts rolling out second Sinovac doses

CEBU, Philippines — The Vaccination Operations Center (VOC) in Cebu City is now focusing on vaccinees scheduled for the second dose of vaccines against COVID-19.

Councilor Dave Tumulak, who also sits as overall coordinator of the vaccine sites, said the full rollout for the second dose vaccines starts today and will run until the rest of this month.

Today, 454 individuals are expected to get their second dose of the Sinovac vaccine at the Robinsons Galleria and 256 at the University of Cebu-Banilad Campus.

Tomorrow, 237 others will have their second dose of Sinovac at Robinson’s Gallera.

It will be busier the following day for both vaccination sites as Wednesday and Thursday schedules will be fused owing to the observance of Eid’l Fitr, one of the most important Islamic holidays.

With this, there will be 530 vaccinees expected at UC Banilad and 524 at Robinsons Galleria.

On May 23 to 26, 28 and 30, those who have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca will receive their second dose at UC-Banilad and Robinsons Galleria.

On the other hand, SM Seaside City will start administering the second dose of Sinovac vaccine on May 23 and 24.

The vaccinees are reminded to bring their vaccination and identification cards. They are also reminded to observe the health protocols, including the wearing of face masks and face shields.

Second dose vaccination schedule can be viewed at the individual vaccination card given during the first jab.
