Rep. Radaza gives aid to schools, indigents

CEBU, Philippines —  Lapu-Lapu City lone district Representative Paz Radaza has continued giving assistance to the education sector as she donated five Xerox machines and 500,000 sheets of bond papers to the city’s 10 district schools.

Radaza said that her recent assistance to the education sector were her gifts to the teachers on the occasion of National Teacher’s Day the other day.

“To tell you frankly, taud-taud ko naghuna-huna sa akong regalo sa atong teachers. Naminaw ko sa mga panginahanglanon, and after some thinking, I decided to give five Risograph machines and half million sheets of bond papers, as my gift. I hope these gifts will be of help to our dear teachers,” said Radaza during the turnover of the said supplies.

Radaza, a former Lapu-Lapu City mayor, said the machines will surely help the teachers in the mass production of modules for the school children as classes in public schools will begin this coming October 5.

Radaza added that these gifts are most fitting, given the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the necessary teaching innovations.

“We know that with the present situation, nothing else is required from us. Magtinabangay gyud ta taman sa atong mabuhat,” Radaza said.

Meanwhile, a total of 700 indigent beneficiaries in Olango Island have received financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development in partnership with Radaza.

“Ako nanghinaut nga gustohon man nako nga ang tanan ang mahatagan apan nag-agad lamang kita sa pundo sa kaulohan. Daku akong kalipay nga ubay-ubay na gyud sa mga Islahanon ang atong nahatagan sa financial assistance. Daku na kining tabang alang sa ilang pamugas ug panud-an,” said Radaza in her Facebook post.

The congresswoman added that she will do her best efforts to look for more funding intended for the Oponganons especially for the poor and the marginalized sector. — GMR (FREEMAN)
