CEBU, Philippines — A first year criminology student from Barangay Guadalupe in Cebu City was arrested for allegedly demanding sex from a 19-year-old woman in exchange for not posting her nude photos online.

Dexter Antonio, 19, was arrested in an entrapment operation conducted by the elements of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU) inside a lodge on Manalili Street, Barangay Sto. Nino in downtown Cebu City Monday night.

Three pieces or condoms were recovered from Antonio, a self-supporting student and a father of one.

Police Colonel Marlo Castillo, RACU-7 chief, said the woman went to their office on Monday, asking for help.

“He (Antonio) threatened the victim to post her nude photos online if she will not give in to his sexual demands,” Castillo said.

Antonio reportedly created a dummy account on Facebook, posing as a foreigner.

The woman reportedly said the suspect asked him to send nude photos of herself. Since then, the suspect had  “blackmailed” her into meeting up.

The woman suspected that his chatmate was using a fake Facebook account when the latter replied to her in Cebuano.

Antonio’s identity was revealed during the meet-up with the girl in Barangay Guadalupe, hours before the former was arrested at around 10 p.m. Monday.

“He used a fake Facebook account to lure the victim,” said Castillo.

But Antonio denied the allegations, saying he is good friends with the woman, who is reportedly his neighbor and his brother’s ex-girlfriend.

He said he just accompanied the woman.

Antonio, who is now held at the Cebu Provincial Police Office detention cell, is set to face charges for violating Republic Act 10175 or The Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009.

Authorities reminded netizens to be careful when making friends online.  KQD (FREEMAN)
