Woman nabbed for P8.8 million shabu

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — About P8.8 million worth of illegal drugs were seized from a 21-year-old woman during a buy-bust operation last Wednesday in Barangay Duljo Fatima, Cebu City.

The police identified the suspect as Judy Ann Longakit, a resident of the place.

Aside from the P8.8 million worth of illegal drugs, the police also confiscated the P10,000 buy-bust money.

According to Police Officer Dindo Alaras, the suspect’s profile was taken from the information they got on their previous operations.

In a press conference, Cebu City Police Office Chief Gemma Vinluan said that the police force has been tailing and observing the suspect for a long time, until they finally got the right chance to arrest her.

Vinluan said they are determined to intensify their operations on war on drugs.

She also emphasized the urgent need to conduct campaigns in schools and to have more focus on the crimes that involve children and women.

She added they are looking at whether the suspect is under a big syndicate.

Meanwhile, three suspects were arrested in another buy-bust operation yesterday afternoon at T. Villa St., Barangay T. Padilla, Cebu City.

Parian Police Station led by Captain Armando Labora conducted the buy-bust operation in the area that resulted in the arrest of the three suspects.

The suspects were identified as Romulo Sant Maria Racaza, 36; Roy Fisaria Dacrama, 30; and Joseph Villegas Despi, 35.

Another suspect Elmar Suico Tabuena, 23, was able to escape while conducting buy-bust operation.

The suspects are all residents of T. Padilla.

Recovered from the three suspects were five plastic sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P6,800.

The suspects will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. — Iris Hazel Mascardo, David E. Mesias, CNU Interns/GAN (FREEMAN)
