Man shot dead in Duljo-Fatima

CEBU, Philippines — A 43-year-old man was shot dead by an unknown assailant near his residence in Sitio Buli, Barangay Duljo-Fatima, yesterday dawn.

The body of the victim, Dario Alindao Abarri, a resident of the said place, was found by a neighbor who was on his way home.

According to Police Corporal Norberto Baring, investigator, that the neighbor, who requested not to be named, heard a gun burst while he was playing pool.

And around 1:20 a.m., when he was heading home he saw Abarri lying on the ground.

He thought Abarri was only sleeping but when he tried to wake him up, he saw traces of blood on his clothes.

Barin said the neighbor immediately reported the matter to Duljo-Fatima barangay hall.

Based on their investigation, Abarri died due to a gunshot wound in the head.

An empty shell of a .45 caliber firearm was recovered by the Scene of the Crime Operatives believed to be from the firearm used by the gunman.

He said they are conducting a follow-up operation to determine the background of the victim, and to identify the assailants.

Initially, personal grudge is the motive that they are looking into. (FREEMAN)
