BOC seizes sex toys, materials
CEBU, Philippines — Several sex toys and pornographic paraphernalia from China were seized by the Bureau of Customs at the Mactan Cebu International Airport.
The items—one box of Viagra, 18 vibrating spears, eight vibrating dildos, 20 silk body lubricants, six batteries, four packs of body stockings-- were found in the luggage of Coleman Timothy Philip upon his arrival on March 16, 2019.
Customs District Collector Elvira Cruz has issued a Warrant of Seizure and Detention against the items for violation of Section 1113 Section (f) in relation to Section 118, Section 1113 (i), Section 1113 (l) and Section 1404 of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
Customs examiner Hevelyn Marzado said the items were not declared by the owner. Marzado said they found the prohibited items upon examination of the luggage. However, the owner was allowed to leave because the violation only requires seizure of the illegal items.
The prohibited items are now under the custody of the BOC for safekeeping while waiting for final disposition. Under the BOC procedure, prohibited items would be destroyed. (FREEMAN)
