Garma to meet with brgy execs
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Police Office Director Royina Garma is planning to meet with public officials from Cebu City barangays affected by drugs to discuss issues associated with the illegal drug campaign and get the support of the community in enforcing it.
This after a recent police operation in Barangay Ermita was conducted without the aid of barangay officials familiar with the interior portion of the area. A four-year-old boy was hit and killed by a stray bullet in that raid.
“I want to hear their plans na meron sila and gusto ko rin i-converge ‘yung resources na meron ako,” Garma said, “I also want to share my plans with them and make arrangements para ma-assure na makukuha namin ang support ng isa’t isa.”
Garma also thought of asking the public officials take a drug test.
“They should volunteer na lang. Sa kanila na ‘yun kung gusto nila ma-preserve yung integrity nila why not volunteer kung hindi sila involved,” she said.
Garma said she expects the full commitment of the communities to their anti-illegal drug campaign. (FREEMAN)
