24 persons nabbed in drug busts

CEBU, Philippines — A total of 24 suspected drug personalities were nabbed and more than P230,000 worth of drugs were seized in separate buy bust operations in Danao City, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu City and Badian town.

Police arrested 18 persons in a series of operations in barangays of  Poblacion, Looc, Suba, and Maslog in Danao City Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

A total of 42 small packs and two medium packs of suspected shabu were recovered from the suspects during the operation with an estimated street value of P146,120.

The operations also resulted in the arrest of John Januario Godinez, 22; Jida Banzon, 32; Claudine Magdadaro, 19;  John Micheal Cuervo, 20; Jacquiline Manulat, 27; Raymond Aguilar, legal age; Rey Mata, 42; Fe Ramoneda, 44; Ronnel Burgos, 36; Janice Capuno, 34; and a 17 year-old minor.

Other arrested suspects were identified as Raymond Mendoza, 40; Atenio Paco, 35; Milton Jule Cando, legal age; Lloyd Jules Ordigozo, 28; Marlon Osabel, 30; Ian Cascabel Bandoquillo, 33; Nestor Abanid, 26; and Charlie Dalogdog, 23.

They were caught allegedly having in their possession several packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.

Police Superintendent Jaime Quiocho Jr., Danao City Police Chief, said that the suspects are newly identified drug personalities in the area.

They are now detained in Danao City Police lock up cell pending filing of proper charges against them.

In Badian town, police arrested Jonel Camarines, 24, a suspected drug pusher who is in the watchlist of Badian Police, during buy bust operation in Barangay Malhiao Saturday night.

Police Senior Inspector Bonifacio Pareja, Badian Police chief, said Camarines has been very elusive.

"Dugay-dugay na gyod ni siya gimonitor but on and off man gud ni iyahang dula niya karon pilaka semana kay nakadawat mi og report nga nibalik," said Pareja.

Seized from Camarines were 10 small packs of suspected shabu worth P10,000.

Camarines is now detained in Badian Police lock up cell and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In Cebu City, police arrested Maricel Maloloy-on Pladgero, 22, of Sitio Lower Kawayan Barangay Sambag 2 in an operation in Barangay Calamba Saturday afternoon.

Pladgero is considered as a street level target in the Abellana police station's drug watch list.

The suspect allegedly sold shabu to a police decoy.

One small pack and one medium pack of shabu were allegedly seized from her possession with an estimated street value of P67,200.

In Lapu-Lapu City, police arrested Marlowe Pahugot Pejo, 23; Eulogeo InehaoAmit Jr., 26;  KeithDungogTumulak, 40; and Jenemay Madriñan Zepeda, were arrested at around 1:45 a.m. in a buy bust operation in Zone Litob, Barangay Kalawisan.

Chief Inspector Joey Bicoy, of Gun-ob Police Station 3, said they have seized at least 10 sachets of suspected shabu worth more than P10,000.

Also confiscated were drug paraphernalia and proceeds of the illegal activity worth P200.

All suspects are detained in Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO) holding cell. —/MBG (FREEMAN)
