Teen stabs foe in cockfight

CEBU, Philippines - A teenager stabbed a man at Sitio Kamanggahan, Barangay Pulangbato, Cebu City Saturday after quarreling over money bet on cockfight.

Eric Anthony Bontuyan, 28, was wounded on the different parts of his body after he was stabbed by 18-year-old Frederick Rosales.

Prior to this, Bontuyan, a resident of Sitio Dita in Barangay Pulangbato, allegedly punched the teen hitting the forehead during their argument at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Rosales, a resident of Barangay San Jose, retaliated and repeatedly stabbed Bontuyan on his body using a gaff, said PO1 Gringo Muldez of Talamban Police Station.

Muldez said Rosales then took a resident namely Gracelyn Silva, 29, as hostage to protect himself from angry bystanders.

Silva's neighbors eventually managed to get hold of the teen then mauled him, said Muldez.

Both Bontuyan and Rosales were brought to the hospital.— (FREEMAN)
