Earth moved nine times in Phl yesterday

CEBU, Philippines - The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology yesterday recorded a nine earthquakes in different parts of the country, three of which jolted Bohol and Cebu.

Two 3.5 magnitude tremors were felt around 10:20 a.m. yesterday, with their epicenters were traced 25 kilometers and 26 kilometers, respectively, northwest of Tagbilaran City, Bohol.  The tremors have a depth of focus at nine kilometers and 13 kilometers, respectively.

Phivolcs reported that one tremor was felt at Intensity 3 in Tagbilaran City, Loon and Maribojoc in Bohol and Argao in Cebu, and Intensity 2 in Dalaguete, Cebu.

Another magnitude 3.5 quake was also experienced in Argao around 4:37 a.m. yesterday but as of press time, no casualties or damages have been reported.

The other six tremors recorded happened at 2:04 a.m. in Paluan, Occidental Mindoro (Intensity 2); 5:52 a.m. in Lupao, Nueva Ecija (Intensity 3); 6:17 a.m. in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro (Intensity 2); and at 7:50 a.m. in Palanan, Isabela (3.3 -magnitude.)

The eighth and ninth earthquake, at magnitude 2.9 and magnitude 2.4, respectively, happened in Occidental Mindoro one after the other at 5:03 p.m. and 6:47 p.m. (FREEMAN)
