CEBU, Philippines - A 58-year-old man was allegedly stabbed dead by his own son Tuesday dawn in Barangay Loray 2, Toledo City.
Both the victim, Vicente Libre Jr. and his son, Marnel Escapi Iwaya, 23, both residents of the place, just got home from their work in Tacloban City.
Based on the investigation conducted by SPO3 Praxillo Albiso, while Iwaya was sleeping, his father tried to wake him up.
Libre was reportedly drunk and acted rudely towards his son because he lost P500.
The father confronted his son, which led to a heated argument with Iwaya then allegedly stabbing his father.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the responding cops while the victim was brought to Toledo City Hospital where he was announced dead on arrival.
The dead body was brought to St. Francis Funeral Homes for an autopsy.
The suspect is now in jail and the victim's sister filed a case in court against the suspect.— (FREEMAN)
